DIY olive oil hair treatment for dry and damaged hair
We have previously seen how to use olive oil for hair growth. This time, we would like to demonstrate how to create a treatment that effectively moisturizes and strengthens your hair.
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons Italica Olive Oil
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 Tablespoon honey
Directions
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl (a 4-inch inner diameter would be sufficient). Begin whisking until the mixture is thoroughly emulsified, ensuring a completely homogeneous blend.
Uses
Once the olive oil hair treatment is ready, generously apply it to your entire hair. How long and how often should you leave this mask on? Well, this will depend on your hair type:
- For those with extremely dry hair, it is recommended to let the treatment sit for 2 hours or even overnight.
- However, if you just want a hydration boost, a minimum of 10 minutes per week should suffice.
Once the time is up, rinse your hair thoroughly to remove all the product.
Prevent hair loss with olive oil and other natural products
Allow us to introduce another remarkable olive oil treatment aimed at preventing hair loss. In addition to olive oil, this treatment incorporates cinnamon, which possesses unique properties to combat hair loss and brittle hair.
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup Italica Olive Oil
- 3 Tablespoons honey
Directions
Add the olive oil to a pot and simmer for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the olive oil to cool until lukewarm. Once it reaches this temperature, add the cinnamon and honey, and stir. Just like the previous DIY olive oil hair treatment, it’s important to ensure that all the ingredients are fully integrated and uniform.
Uses
There are two application options:
- Apply this homemade mask directly to your scalp, gently massaging it for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by shampoo to remove the product.
- Alternatively, after washing your hair and while it is still damp, apply the mask using a comb. To ensure even distribution, separate your hair into layers. Massage the mask into your hair for 5-10 minutes. For enhanced results, don’t rinse it out immediately. Instead, cover your hair with a towel and remove the product after 15 minutes.
As you can see, one step that remains consistent is hair massage. By applying pressure with your fingers, you can stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, leading to better results. Remember, perseverance is essential in these cases. Stay consistent each week, and you will witness the benefits and vitamins of olive oil in your hair.
